Dallas Cowboys Running Back 2010 Preview
Felix Jones
In yet another case of the two-back-attack blues, fantasy owners
will have to chose between Marion Barber and Felix Jones and when
to draft either one of them. It seemed that the Cowboys were slowly
moving to more of a Jones-oriented offense, especially in the playoffs
(30 carries, 217 yards 1 TD). Jones has worked out hard in the offseason
to put on the necessary bulk to become an every down back and there
is hope he will be used as a receiver out of the backfield more
often. With that said the Cowboys don't throw to the running backs
much.
Which ever running back is in the Cowboy backfield they will succeed
behind one of the better offensive lines in the league even with
the loss of Flozell Adams. Doug Free and former St. Louis Rams'
#1 pick flop, Alex Barron, will compete for his spot, but Pro Bowlers
Andre Gurode and Leonard Davis along with veteran Marc Colombo and
Kyle Kosier will open plenty of holes for the Cowboys backs.
The fact remains Marion Barber and occasionally Tashard Choice will
be getting plenty of carries, especially around the goal line and
that prevents Jones from becoming a top-ten back at this point.
