Kansas City Chiefs 2010 Running Back Preview
Jamaal Charles
There would be a lot more excitement in Jamaal Charles if not for
the signing of veteran Thomas Jones. After all, Jones rushed for
a stud-like 1,402 yards and 14 touchdowns for the Jets in 2009 and
1,312 with 13 touchdowns in 2008.
Nevertheless Charles burst onto the seen replacing a dead-legged
Larry Johnson and rushed for nearly 1,000 yards, 7 touchdowns and
added 27 catches an another touchdown in the final eight games.
He would be a stud if he played that way the whole season.
The argument against Charles is that he played against poor defenses
at the end of the season and he runs behind a below-average offensive
line. But the main issue will be how he is used with Thomas Jones.
Jones was not signed to be a backup, so it is likely going to another
two-headed rushing attack. Charles buyers should draft with caution
and hope Thomas Jones runs out of gas.
