New Orleans Saints 2010 Running Back Preview
Pierre Thomas
Ranking Thomas at any spot is more about his team than his ability.
Playing for the number one offense in the NFL will always give the
starting running back of that offense a chance at being a Fantasy-All-Star,
as is the case for Thomas.
Of course the talented Reggie Bush is also going to be in the New
Orleans' backfield and will take a lot of balls away from Thomas,
but Bush has never been an every down pure-runner and that combined
with the loss of Mike Bill, leaves the job to Thomas.
Going along with the best offense in the NFL is one of the best
offensive lines in the NFL. Led by guard Jahri Evans, who may be
the best interior offensive linemen in the NFL, the Saints' line
does a great job of protecting the quarterback and opening huge
holes for the Saints' running backs. The Saints added depth with
tackle Charles Brown with the last pick of the second-round.
The rub on Thomas will be his consistency. He is likely to have
some big games and others when he is almost worthless due to the
fact that the Saints have many weapons and many ways to beat teams.
