Indianapolis Colts 2010 Wide Receiver Preview

Reggie Wayne

After Andre Johnson (and possibly including) it is a pretty even flow of fantasy wide receivers. Naturally whether you are in a points per reception league or not will help you determine the best receivers for your team, but it is important to find the most consistent stud with the best quarterback and offense available. Enter Reggie Wayne.
You will be hard-pressed to find a receiver with a better quarterback and offense than Wayne has in Manning and the Colts. Wayne has caught 676 career passes for 9,393 yards and 63 touchdowns from Manning including six consecutive 1,000 yard seasons. In 2007 he caught 104 passes for 1,510 yards and ten touchdowns, so Andre Johnson type numbers are possible.
A bad news/good news situation for Wayne is the significant improvement of tight end Dallas Clark and development of young receivers Pierre Garcon and Austin Collie not to mention the return of Anthony Gonzalez from injury. Naturally the negative with all these good receivers is it means less looks for Reggie Wayne, but the big benefit is that it means less double-teaming of Wayne and therefore more easy catches just like in 2009.

2009 Statistics: 100 Rec - 1,264 Yds - 10 TD's

2010 Projection: 98 Rec - 1,314 Yds - 10 TD's
