Dallas Cowboys Quarterback 2010 Preview
Tony Romo
Many fantasy owners continued to doubt Romo's fantasy ability, but
he may have finally put those doubters to rest after throwing for
nearly 4,500 yards. Romo showed growth as a quarterback throwing
a career-low nine interceptions and posting a career-high 97.6 quarterback
rating.
What really gives Romo a chance to be the best fantasy quarterback
in 2010 is the incredible weapons he has at his disposal. Wide receiver
Miles Austin stepped up and became one of the best receivers in
the league by catching 81 passes for 1320 yards and 11 touchdowns.
Roy Williams may not be worth what the Cowboys paid, but he certainly
is good. Patrick Crayton and Sam Hurd (either could be traded) gives
them great depth, but #1 draft pick Dez Bryant could stretch defenses
and allow Romo to pick apart opposing defenses. Pro Bowler Jason
Witten gives Romo yet another target and disappointing 6-6 Martellus
Bennett at least give them depth.
Finally, we know the Cowboys can run with Tony Romo, Marion Barber
and Tashard Choice and this is because the Cowboys have one of the
better offensive lines in the league. Doug Free and former St. Louis
Rams' #1 pick flop, Alex Barron, will compete for the departing
Flozell Adams' spot, but Pro Bowlers Andre Gurode and Leonard Davis
along with veteran Marc Colombo and Kyle Kosier will give Romo the
time to put up big fantasy numbers in 2010.
