1. LeBron James - Cavaliers
Just another average year for the King. Nothing else to see here.
2008 Statistics:
30.1 Pts - 7.9 Reb - 7.2 Ast
2009 Projection:
31.2 Pts - 7.3 Reb - 7.9 Ast
2. Rashard Lewis - Orlando
Rashard gets the nod over Dirk for the sheer amount of 3-pointers
he will hit in a season. But Dirk has the advantage of getting
more boards. Lewis will once again average over 20PPG for the
Magic in his second year there. Basically a scorer who will lose
value if he cannot continue to score because does not add fantasy
value anywhere else.
2008 Statistics:
18.2 Pts - 5.4 Reb - 2.4 Ast
2009 Projection:
21.1 Pts - 5.8 Reb - 3.1 Ast
3. Dirk Nowitzki - Dallas
Will benefit from playing with Jason Kidd for the whole season.
This should enable him to get some easy buckets since he runs
the floor well for a big man. Averages around a block a game and
nearly 9 boards a game and this will help out his owners in those
categories. Overall, Nowitzki is a solid second round pick for
any owner but beware of him wearing down after playing in the
Olympics this summer after playing in the playoffs as well.
2008 Statistics:
23.6 Pts - 8.6 Reb - 3.5 Ast
2009 Projection:
25.6 Pts - 8.9 Reb - 3.3 Ast
4. Carmelo Anthony - Denver
'Melo has gotten used to playing with AI and that has benefitted
him greatly. He set a new career high in FG%, RPG, and 3PT %.
With Marcus Camby gone, I see him setting an even higher RPG high.
He has played well with Team USA and that should carry into the
NBA season but his owners need to remember that he plays with
Iverson who is known to take over games, leaving Anthony to fend
for himself in the points department.
2008 Statistics:
25.7 Pts - 7.4 Reb - 3.4 Ast
2009 Projection:
27.1 Pts - 8.0 Reb - 4.0 Ast

5. Tracy McGrady- Houston
T-Mac is a great player but he needs to stay healthy to warrant
a top 3 ranking. Also, he needs a healthy Yao Ming or his play
suffers. He might score a few more points but his shooting percentages
plummet immensely. I could very well see people drafting him infront
of anyone, not named James, infront of him on this list. He still
provides value besides points and that will help his owners justify
drafting him.
2008 Statistics:
21.6 Pts - 5.1 Reb - 5.9 Ast
2009 Projection:
23.2 Pts - 4.7 Reb - 6.2 Ast
6. Shawn Marion - Miami
The Matrix has landed in Miami and seems to finally be happy.
Let's hope he can keep his fantasy owners happy. He should form
a solid team with Wade and Beasley. 20 and 10 is never out of
the picture with Marion and he should average that for the year.
Also, he averages nearly 2 rips per game and 1.5 blocks. Marion
will contribute in any number of ways.
2008 Statistics:
15.7 Pts - 10.4 Reb - 2.2 Ast
2009 Projection:
19.7 Pts - 10.0 Reb - 3.6 Ast
